How to Over Influence an Author's Story Intent

An author has two voices and one is what they want their story to say right so that's the author intent. You can usually tell what it is from an editor's perspective from the blurb which is why I always ask for a blurb. Some authors are very good at pushback and other authors aren't because they don't want to hurt the editor's feeling. An editor who makes changes all the way through will influence your voice without educating you on how to do it, she says. She gives some examples of editors' overused personification and adverbs but also pratchett used terry in her book.
