The Psychology of Thumbnails
A thumbnail to me is at least 80, maybe 90%, the psychology of the click and then maybe 10, 20% the actual design of the thumbnail. What is actually being shown in the thumbnails is so much more important than to design. When I'm making a thumbnail on this computer, I have all this real estate, I'm looking at it for hours, tweaking things and doing things. We're looking at it on this massive screen, whereas a YouTuber sees it just for a split second. So for me, it's really about the thing we're showing more than how we're showing it."
