"I can't quite figure out whether what you're concerned about with AI is the fact that it is quite powerful and that it allows bad actors to do worrying things. Or whether you're worried that because we are following the wrong damn scientific approach we're not going to be able to produce really powerful AI's," he said. "For me there's actually two distinct sets of worries at two different timescales one is about the current AI which I find to be mediocre and the other is about future AI which could be very powerful right now"
