The Shake and the Water Castle

When we went there were gangs of local school kids who were visiting the palace for a school trip. They'd obviously been told by their teachers that they had to try and interview any English speakers that they met. We visited Taman Sarri which is the water castle which was built at the end of the 18th century. This was a place where the shake would spend time with his concubines, concubines are basically like his mistresses or girlfriends. The sultan would sit in a tower and sort of watch them and then pick one or two to have sex with him.
