PCA - Should I Use IV or IV?

I will say it's okay to do both. We have had patients right with complex wound dressings who need a dose of IV medications to really help them in those situations. So we're addressing their opioid cravings with the buprenorphine. That also is doing a little work for the pain if we give it in the split dosing. And then we're using a full agonist opioid on top of that, something that's hydromorphone, hydromorphones, fentanyl that have maybe a little more higher affinity. Okay. Great.
