The Importance of Working Out the Basics

I made an assumption that everyone joined the organization because they really believed in what I believed in. And actually some people just wanted to be proximate to something that was interesting or different. So when we make assumptions that we're all on the same page, have we even worked out the basic shit? We need safe spaces for that. To make space is hard. How do we hold on to something far bigger than ourselves so it doesn't break the relationship unless it needs to break? That's where again that faith piece comes back to me.
