The great hope of the christian life is that though we serve ag who is unchanging, he will never change. The scriptures are not first and foremost concerned with telling us who we are but about speaking of god. Why? Because the knowledge of god and the knowledge of self always go hand in hand. When we come to saving faith in christ, we receive the indwelling spirit which allows us to increasingly become who it is that we were meant to be.
