Is There a Global Middle Class in Trend Forecasting?
The trend industry has really struggled with inclusion, especially racial inclusion. You can't major in call in undergrad in futures or trend forecasting at most places. I think there's a real bias towards that and the people who are able to feel really comfortable in those meetings tend to be of that demographic as well. The companies that were kind of more coming out over the foresight and the sort of traditional futurology dominated by super white male executives is changing.
