Farming is an improvement on hunting and gathering. Being able to terrace hillsides adds more farmable land. There's just a bias in terms of figuring out what we're not yet doing that we might extract some growth from. And as that becomes increasingly technological, we become increasingly remote from the habitats for which we are most adapted. In other words, its both system but also having the mental capacity in order to sift through it is important.
