The Interpretive Ladder

There is a widely used concept in astronomy called the cosmic distance ladder. You go from, you go from stars to galaxies to cosmological distances and at each step, you make sure you go to objects that allow you to go further. So there's this ladder. And in the microscopic world, it's the same sort of thing, then, but that somehow that isn't had a name as far as I know so I call it the interpretive ladder.
