The Appeal of Wanting to Be a Shakespeare Character
It is an ambition to be one of the lead characters within a Shakespeare play. For me, it's different for every actor and some people probably enjoy the prestige as well. I also think a lot of the characters that he writes are just really bloody good. And there are moments when you get to go somewhere in a performance of a Shakespeare character that not a lot of roles these days would necessarily take you like Julius Caesar or Mark Antony.
