In your early 20s, you were reading a lot of books about the motorcycle world. You moved to New York City at 26 and started working as an intern for a magazine called Grand Street. That was a really good magazine; they published Mike Davis and Edward Said in translation. And now she edits a very different kind of work, but she comes out of that environment too.
