The Government's Trying to Change the Franchise Model
The pandemic meant that a lot of these contracts between the government and the operators were effectively ripped up overnight. The governments cand have used this opportunity to decide to re jig everything. This now means that there'll be three pretty big rail services that are basely being run by the government. But the government has still been quite adamant that they want to have private companies involved in some degree.
