Can You Talk About Chess Politics?

I'm very happy to talk about politics, obviously, but just a chess node. While I thought it was quite surprising that both Lee and Tan won the separate parts of the candidates' tournaments, it was fully deserved. It also seems in general like a lot of Chinese players are probably just underrated. Do we know if Jibanjun is part of that circle? Does she live somewhere else? She also played that much, but her rating dropped a bit recently.
