The studios didn't have geo political considerations in mind when they were making these films. They knew that market and population trends indicated china could one day be a big source of revenue for four cinema, but not quite yet. As of just 20 20, china became officially the largest film market on the planet. There were a couple of different factors here that moved the time line.
