The Fed's Preference for Inflation
The Fed's preferred inflation measure decelerated monously on a year of year basis to 4.6%. On a three-month annualized basis, the PCE rate fell 3.8%, which is the lowest print in that time series since November. We expect they're likely to continue to be positive, at least through July, potentially into August. But then after that, we might start to see some inflation data firm up.
