The Impact of Micro Interactions in the Workplace

There's something you mentioned a couple of answers ago about the experience of people of colour or women in the office. There was another book that I really enjoyed was, Marina Hertz's Lonely Century. And she spoke specifically about the impact of micro interactions. The very fact of going into your local laundry, laundrette, or you're going into a chat into the barista. You don't think it impacts you, but it does because it removes, I guess, a degree of ego from your interactions. So those micro interactions seem to play a part, even if we don't recognise they play a part. We need to give people autonomy to make those decisions.
