George Lucas came up with the idea for Indiana Jones when he was working on American graffiti. After school, he makes the sci-fi film THX 1138 as his first full length feature. He then creates his own production company Lucasfilm Limited and directs a comedy about kids in a small town in the early 60s called American graffiti released in 1973. In 1977, Lucas goes to Maui to hide out during the release of the first Star Wars. Spielberg tells George Lucas, he's considering making a James Bond film. And George Lucas is the one who turns him and says, I have something way better than that.
