Esperanza was the first jazz musician to win a best new artist Grammy. She has since won three more Grammys and seven studio albums. In 2018, she released 12 little spells inspired by Japanese healing art Reiki. Esperanza is writing an opera with Wayne Shorter that will be released next year.
