"It's like this massive erection of the false self," she says. "Now we are given emojis tools filters, because we have been told by these algorithms ... You really are not good enough." Today's guest is none other than best-selling author and psychologist, Dr. Shefali. Her new book, The Parenting Map, and this conversation are for anyone raising a kid in this scary social media-driven environment.
We dive into the walls that parents hit with their children, what to do if your child is "acting out," and what to do about the pressure you might feel to raise a "perfect" child. Dr. Shefali has such amazing insights into parenting and I hope you enjoy this conversation with her as much as I did.
