In Arizona the Department for Child Safety reports that 14 infants have been relinquished under safe haven laws in the last five years. It's estimated that across the United States more than four and a half thousand babies have been surrendered anonymously since 1999. In these circumstances if a parent is identified they're probably face prosecution. Anti-abortion lobby groups have long argued that safe haven laws eliminate the need for abortion.
