Is Rawls a Political Philosophy?
Rawls is taught widely in law schools as one of the foundational theorists of what it is to live in a just society. When Barack Obama was President, frankly, he didn't do much to uphold Rawlsian principles of justice. A lot of American politics particularly is shaped by what judges decide. But a politics that's reduced to what judges decide is still too remote.
