The Limits of Free Speech
If you believe this thing, if this belief is going to have any value, you've got to let it hear all the other points of view. So they have to be out there in the world being sort of duking it out with other beliefs. In Mill's arguments for free speech, he's mainly arguing against the idea of constraining speech. But even if an opinion we're attempting to suppress is false, it's still wrong to suppress it.
