User Research - What I Struggled With as a User Researcher?

I struggled with not understanding what a research process was and how to actually implement a research process. I would try and use these ideal processes that I saw without understanding that they had no way of thriving within my core current organization. And so the problem was, is that what was readily available to me and what I learned was design thinking. That's where I fell in love with user research and said, I want to do this forever.
