Mary Sidney Herbert's Translation of the Doleful Lay of Clorinda

Mary sidney was an incredibly smart person. Her translation work in particular has been incredibly important. She translated petrarch's triumpho de la mo te, the triumph of death. In 15 92 she published a translation of philippe du plesi morna's discord de la vie et de la mora's discourse on life and death. The poem concludes with imagery of the deceased having gone to heaven and existing in a state of bliss while the people who remain behind are left with their grief at their loss.
