I was a witness guy, this guy was quite tricky. I asked him if he could turn the TV down. Gave him one of my chocolate biscuits. He goes, oh, everything's fine. This is a microcosm of what happens in society all the time. In other words, it's evidence that what human beings need is something more than stuff and power,. They need trust and they need recognition. And meaning systems provide purpose, identity, respect and such like.
