You can actually put heavy modifiers after the noun, but that's considered marked. And you see it only in poetry mostly. The funny part about Basque is that all those case endings, they don't go after the head noun unless the head noun is the last part of the noun phrase. If it's an adjective, it will go after that adjective. This can, this extends to coordinated phrases, if they share exactly the same endings.
