The Primal Image of Sacrifice

Fire is such a central image. I'm almost a Zoroastrian in that respect. It's interesting as you study the different forms of sacrifice in the ancient world. There are also sacrifices in drowning. For example the ancient Norse people would throw people over cliffs. They would throw them into wells and waterfalls. So there are all those different forms. The methods of sacrifice there's libation to somebody who knows what a libation is. Pouring, pouring, the image of pouring. That's a sacrificial and pouring out your life for others. A very common way if we've said is burning the image of fire. But it's not the only thing of burning.
