I Was a Vegetarian at a Young Age
i was 25 and in the midst of a phd. An psychology. i didn't know anything about india. I was not called to ind on any conscious level. It was my husband who wanted to go, and i agreed to go because i was a very strict vegetarian,. And that's unusual too. it is unsong. Yes, i i was not born as a vegetarian, but when i was fif n sitting in france at a friend's house for christmas dinner, and her mother brings out quail as this very elegant dish with strings around it. And just in that moment, the bird on my plate was no more food than the plate itself was food
