The Dominican Republic and Haiti - What Makes Me Feel Dominican?
Alfredo Ester is of Haitian descent and was born in the Dominican Republic. In 2010, he went to renew his identity papers but couldn't get them back. The government told him it had taken away his nationality for being a 'Haitian' Alfredo now campaigns on behalf of Haitians who feel they don't belong anywhere other than their homeland.
