Is the Pultec the Best EQ?
The Pultec is where it started and where everybody still goes back to. If I had to only have one piece of analog gear, vintage or modern, that wasn't EQ would be the Pultec. For me, it's a seven. Now, there's other EQs that I utilize more, but because I'm very nitpicky with like certain little things, like I don't like resonance. And it's one of those kind of tools that unfortunately, isn't the one that notches the way it resonates. But with that said, it did inspire a lot of the EQs that we use based off of its own curves.
