The Risk of Head Impacts in Rugby Is X

There are more by number more head injuries from hip contact than they are shoulder and head contacts. It's an artifact or a consequence of the fact that there are simply so many more tackles at that point. The only way you truly understand risk is not by counting how many bad things happen. You have to count how many things could have happened and then express the bad as a percentage of the total. That's propensity. And I don't think the message has been rationalised away as accidental incident. Can't really change rugby like we're not going to intervene with tackle height.
