When you understand that degree of salvation from the Savior, you have a greater appreciation for Christ. The late hymn writer Ron Hamilton once wrote in his famous song, Before I Loved Him, he said, "Lost in the darkness, I stumble alone, far from the sunlight of day" Now we obey not because it makes us righteous, we obey because the righteous one has given us His righteousness and the gratitude for that drives us.
