The laser itself isn't that efficient yet. The lasers output about 2.05 megajoules and the reaction produced 3.15, which is about 50% more. It's just so hard to get excited about because it's still so far away. We've been 20 years away from this since the 50s but yeah, this is a big breakthrough.
