The Famous Flames and Bart Brown
In the fifties, bart had become closely associated with king records. He left universal attractions to devote himself full time to managing brown. The famous flames started getting better giggs and a much higher profile on the chiplin circuit. Around this time they got their own backing band centred on j c viss,. bobby wroche on guitar, nat kendrick on drums and bernard odum on bas musicians would come and go, but this was the original line up of what became the james brown band.
