Facebook's Hate Speech Policy Changes With the Ukrainian War
The social media company is also temporarily allowing some posts that call for the death to Russian president Vladimir Putin or Belarusian president Alexander Lukashenko. As a result of the Russian invasion of Ukraine, we have temporarily made allowances for forms of political expression that would normally violate our rules like violent speech, such as death to the Russian invaders. So now that calls for the death of or calls for violence can be considered political expression as long as you are doing it against Russians. I bet that that would not be allowed if the Russians were doing it against Ukrainians. But these are the sorts of things that you're seeing. Forget if we have free speech, are we even allowed to say true things?
