The Intransigence of Academics
I don't think that academics are really the group of people we want to concentrate on here. I've encountered that, and oddly, I encounter it more often with more educated people. Part of being open-minded is being kind. You want to understand somebody else's argument in the best possible terms. And that takes some work, and it's work that we're increasingly unwilling to do.
