The Perception of Learning as a Science
In the United States and obviously it's a huge huge country but what's the kind of perception of this idea of learning as a science. I often get that question from people including people with PhDs in other realms who are themselves perhaps scientists, questions suggesting why would you need a book on the science of learning? And my answer to that is always well no actually learning isn't intuitive. There are many counterintuitive aspects to learning which have been demonstrated by empirical evidence. So our impression are the way we should be approaching this is to take a science-based approach.
