Two gas employees went missing in the 1970s. The second wife divorced him because she couldn't cope with his bizarre obsession with homosexual magazines. She also was finding wallets with ideas of young men lying around the house. I imagine if she thought he was murdering these people, that she would. But i don't think he thought he was murdered.
