The Dynamic of Japan's Cooling Off of Hydroelectric Dams
1.3 million cubic meters of seawater was used to cool the reactor and to minimize the damage to the environment. That water has been captured and treated after 12 years of careful processing. Yet still they have a very conservative plan to slowly release that water into the Pacific Ocean further deluding it 100 to 1 as they do so. And I would swim in that water today. You get more exposure from radiation by eating a banana than you would by jumping in to one of those containers that holds Fukushima water. It's really the most absurd case study in our inability to measure risks and to execute trade-offs.
