Face Recognition Is Not Just for Social Media
Face recognition relies on a data base of images. The size, quality and privacy conditions are largely what determines how safe or intrusive the technology is. In 19 98, addick built his data basis by manually scanning thousands of pictures n tagging them with names. It was tedious and limiting in size. We have allowed the beast out of the bag by feeding it billions of faces and helping it by tagging ourselves. Therefore, any hope of controlling and requiring everybody to be to be responsible in ther use of face recognition is difficult.
