Mass Observation

Victoria Wood wrote a play called Housewife 49 based on someone called Nella last. She became a member of the WRVS, the Women's Royal Voluntary Society. They used to help people who'd been bombed out by giving them clothes and places to live. So that was interesting in itself. And I thought, I wonder if they still do it?
