The Importance of Being Resilient
The problem for most of these institutions is that they're they're judged against their peers. When everyone's doing the same thing there's almost no benefit to stepping outside. In regards to japan i've seen you wait for years and then with the capital that you had on hand the cash um after the earthquake came you were able to double down in Japan. It was a combination of having a clear investment philosophy and having the willingness and the patience to stand outside.
