The Three Carbons of Glyceraldehyde 3 Phosphate
Glyceraldehyde 3 phosphate is a three carbon molecule with phosphate on the third carbon. Fructose actually jumps in at this step to become dihydroxyacetone phosphate, which then gets transferred into glyceral dehyde 3 phosphate through triose phosphate or somerase. That's where fructose comes in.
