The Syrian Civil War
There isn't the level of fighting, shelling, killing that was going on 10 years ago nothing like it but there is still killing that happens. Putin and the Russians intervened in 2015 and turned the tide of the war. What they've taken control of is a broken country with enormous amounts of damage huge amounts of dead people, homeless people, refugees very little hope for the future. They were prepared to break the country and that's what they did.
