Edgar Hoover's Influence on the American Public

Edgar Hoover was very good at building political relationships in washington and getting along with a surprisingly broad group of political figures. He served under four democratic presidents four republican presidents he had widespread support in congress vast swats of the american public supported him for almost all of his career so he's an incredibly popular figure. In certain strategic moments make working alliances with groups like the ACLU and right and double ACP though but he's also getting along with them I think.
