The Importance of Belief in Knighthood
Dunk is unique in that he doesn't even think of knighthood as a rank. To him it means you have to help people out and do the honorable thing. Whether or not Dunk was actually knighthood is a fun thing for us to think about, but ultimately I think what you're just telling us that his behavior is what matters most. In terms of behavior, there's no question he's a knight. There's no question that Brienne is a knight based on that same standard because of her behavior.
