Michael Ventress was an English architect who ended up deciphering the script that had been unearthed at many of the Mycenaean palaces in Greece. Up until the 1950s, scholarly books on ancient Greece still spoke of an invasion which brought the Greek language into Greece. But the 1950s saw one of the last sensational decipherment stories of an ancient script, which would overturn this view. This is the final story of today's episode.
