Kessler is effectively doing in that moment is he never saluted him. He didn't do the salute. The courage and honor and chivalry that he's discussing really are in the clouds only. And everything else on the ground is just a lie. That's what he's lamenting is basically it's not real for him either. Can you make some point of mentioning this was like eight minutes in the air for me? It was like an eight minute time in the skies that I almost don't even remember because I was too busy doing everything else. Now it's my entire legend is based on it.
