Is There a Difference Between a Party and a Dictatorship?

There's two different ways to codify the existence or strength of parties and dictatorship. One is a hand coated approach that relies on subjective decision making. The other way, which gangandi M took, was a much more objective way to make assessments. We really don't see a lot of variation in terms of the fact that there are so many party-based dictatorships out there.
